astra h handbrake rubber boots?

hi
as happens to most people with astras my handbrake keeps getting frozen on now i know the reason. the rubber boots on the end of cables are split both sides letting the water in my question is can you just buy the rubber boots or is it a whole new cable needed thanks for any info

Unless you can source something to fit , its a new cable, but for the price of a new cable its not worth fannying around trying to source boots..

Nah... simples..

just a matter of pulling up the gaiter around the lever undoing the adjuster nut until its just on a few threads . then under the car unhook the cable from the compensator, then at the rear undo the retaining bolts on the rear beam and unhooking the cables of the calipers... then fitting is the same in reverse then adjust the nut lever end ,

liquid tape i fixd my dads ball joint rubber with it awhile ago might be worth a try for 7 quid

for the tape the rubber would need cleaning with petrol then just a case of painting it over the split to seal not really sure on the time it would last but was the 1st thing that came to my mind

Do you need to drop the exhaust when doing this?

not done mine yet but will make a guide when i do just waiting for the new clips from vx and the snow to go
