Hi All,
Had a problem with the timing chain and ended up bending all 8 inlet valves.
Engine stripped. New valves purchased ready to go when I noticed fine cracks in the valve guides.
I was given some advice on here to change the valve guides but when I call the shop for guides I was given different advice and I would really appreciate your thoughts.
I was told NOT to change the guides as if you press in new guides you need to then regrind the seats as you will never get the valves, guides and seats to line up properly.
Their advice was to take a 10mm drill bit and remove the top 5mm of the valve guide to get below the fine cracks and then just refit the valves....
Any thoughts on just drilling the cracks out??
Cheers,
