Rattle / Squeak Under Car

Noticed this yesterday, but when closing both the passenger and drivers door (and the boot lid as it turns out), there is a metallic rattle / squeak coming from under the car as the door bangs shut.

Could this be the exhaust hangers?

Does it knock if you go over speed bumps?

I don't know, you can't hear it inside the car.

do you have lowering springs on ?
mine squeaks found it was the paint warn off the springs and them rubbing together 🙂

No, it's standard OE suspension. Actually, I wonder if it could be the RARB, as that hasn't been removed in over a year, so the grease could have come away from that.

Might be worth getting an extra pair of ears on the job, someone to listen while you shut the door etc.

I narrowed the noise down to under the car from the center section area, but didn't manage to get under to have a look. It's stopped now, but does seem to come and go. Got 4 days off next week to have a proper look.

Well the noise has stopped on it's own. It's not happened in almost a week now.

I've also managed to find the rattle noise I had from the rear on the inside of the car. I removed the parcel shelf last night, and the noise has gone away. So, next time I'm at VX, I'll look at getting a new parcel shelf.

I get the same rattle when i shut my door on the black coupe. It sounds like the exhaust hitting the heat shield so possibly the rubbers perishing??? My coupe still has the original Vx factory exhaust etc.

Rattle has started to come back. I've got 3 days off next week, so hopefully I can get my arse in gear and try and fix the little things that are currently bugging me about the VXR (and wash the bloody thing as well!)
