Mark_Dj Can I tow a tower light on my licence? I know I am allowed to tow anything thats 750kg. My boss has asked me to go and pick a light up for him and it heavier than 750kg. The Tower Light is 928kg in weight. I would be towing this in my Ford Transit drop side. Here is the light.. http://www.nixonhire.co.uk/hire/plant-tool-hire/lighting/9-metre-hydraulic-telescopic-halide-towerlight-c2550d177768.html
vocky there was a discussion about this on the vx220 site http://www.vx220.org.uk/forums/topic/119305-towing-regulations/
vocky The .gov.uk website says: a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes or 3,500 kilograms (kg) Maximum Authorised Mass (MAM) towing a trailer of up to 750kg MAM (with a combined weight of up to 4,250kg in total) a trailer over 750kg MAM as long as it is no more than the unladen or ‘kerb’ weight of the towing vehicle (with a combined weight of up to 3,500kg in total)
Mark_Dj I have just got back in from towing it. Cheers for the info, I took the risk but thought it was ok. Thanks
