Coil Pack Question After Replacing

i finally got round to getting a new coil pack, after the suggestions that it was a likely cause, from my other thread https://z22se.co.uk/threads/misfire-map-sensor.21990/#post-1192103

its a Delphi unit brand new.

it seems to have stopped the misfire although the car missed a beat on idling earlier. (just once)

when I was fitting it I discounted the battery and left it for an hour or so after to allow anything to reset, my question is today I took it out and my mpg was rubbish compared to when the old pack was fitted.

Have I missed something out when fitting? Is it meant to be programed in or something?

yeh mpg will be bad for about 100 miles or so

dont rev it over 3500 until you have allowed the ecu to relearn

havent used the car since, so i went over everything whilst i wasnt using it and found there was a slight leak on the rear exhaust box joint. removed the joining sleeve i used cleaned it up refitted it, gum gum paste and stronger home made clamps tightened it right up and now not even a movement on the rev counter. 🙂 faulty/worn coil pack and a slight exhaust leak was causing me the misfire.
iv only had it on idel in the garage and seems all good now. test will be next week after driving 😉 and hopfully my mpg will go back up.

Well after about 600 milies or so im getting 35mpg in the cold weather. so hopfully when its warmer i may get 40mpg again fingers crossed 😉

yeh considering it takes longer for the engine to warm up and will use more fuel in colder conditions

z22se will not do over 40 mpg unless on the motorway d00d

on the same route in september i was able to get 42mpg, half the route was 50-60mph, 45miles round trip,
on the motor way the mpg drops on mine.
