corsaZ22se Well, as i'm not at work yet and have free time on my hands I started the rework of the 3.54:1 F23. found out why she was crunchy on shifting in to 2nd. worn blocker ring and broken selector hub. Pulled the box from an ex post office Combo van. what you get for £50 i guess. Got a mint Vectra B box for parts so she will go again. £300 for a complete selector set from Vauxhall :eek: Lucky the magnet caught all the bits (y)
corsaZ22se stripped and clean the parts, removed all traces of the EP gear oil which had been in the box before i got it. reassembled using second hand parts and fitted wave rings between the gear and blocker ring on 3rd and 4th gears. shifts nice on the bench, see how it goes in the car soon :cautious:
corsaZ22se little bit of petrol a brush and compressed air works a treat for cleaning. would not have been so dirty if it had never of had EP gear oil in it.
corsaZ22se so, this happened. not great shots, it had got dark. forgot how tight it all is in there  was going to pull her apart ready for scrap but not got another project car yet and start new job on 14th 🙂
corsaZ22se no, it's always been the plan. she's just a test bed to see if it works. looking for the right car now to swap it all in to then scrap the red shed. or may be put her back to standard and use as a daily?
corsaZ22se Got her finished, washed and test drive. smooth gearshift now. just need a new rear mount rubber as this one is a bit soft. vibrates on subframe in reverse. All dried and cover up ready for winter 🙂:sleep:
corsaZ22se and so this happened today, Yes, they are the seats from the prototype Corsa C VXR. o_O:confused::eek: would have been rude not to have them :p
