inner cv boot on and filled with fresh grease even cleaned the end up

vec c z22se 5 speed lower all but the same lenth

new bolts for the bracket to the block

going up think the 6 ton axle stands are a bit over kill lol

pulling the pin

hub nut showed no effect 🙂

pushing the shaft out man tools in action

unclipping the cv

old vs new

new o-ring to stop the crap getting in the splines

new cv gators fitted and the cv's greased up
had to pop back to the shop and get a 2nd larger clip the 1st one pulled open as was unusable

Take it you had fun popping the shaft from the hub

inner cv heat shield modded for lambda wire

wire clipped in

2l of atf to go in then its job done 🙂

got the car back on the floor but it was raining far too much to continue

I go though tyres like oneo, its all the power, I struggle to put it down. Hahahhaa.

gearbox oil in and 1st test drive done 🙂
its better to pull under hard acceleration and the it pulls straight and no to the left
no funny noises or clunking so the cv's are ok even fine under full lock

So all in all a great modification? And what would you say the whole thing would cost to put together.

I bet its alot cheaper than having custom made shafts to suit.

i think its good 🙂 i was going to do it ages ago but got stumped with the outer cv i now know the z20let shafts splines are different
having never touched the outter cv's on the astra i never knew they were the same @[deleted] showed it was the same spline on the z22se 🙂 and i thank him loads for that 🙂

repair gators and gearbox oil £30
bolts and washers £2

will add it to my garage page with the links got a few bits to update in there 🙂

also went out in the car to the shop its much much better the t/c lamp comes on less and has lesser of an impact to the engine (less cut)
pulls well with less spin and down right pulling straight i almost scared myself lol

Glad it's worked out alright and is noticeable on the Astra too. Always was on my track Corsa's and calibra. Just need to get round to fitting mine

seams fine after a week of use just a bit of a squeak from the caliper where i sprayed with carb cleaner must of shifted the copper slip off

in other news that ncdr 1100 and cid screen i bought started to be fitted
after stripping the dash loom for the right parts and plugs

adapter loom from ebay to make a retro fit loom

brand new trim and cage from vx

the screen was then plugged in for a test and it had 3 dead lines ffs

all on one end

i stripped the lcd to try and get the ribbon better connected with the screen

but when i put the stainless frame back on the screen i must of damaged the ribbon without knowing the screen never came back on

after a couple of attempts to repair the ribbon the screen is still inactive so im looking for a new screen lol

Next time you will learn to live with little lines on 1 side of the screen. Bad times.

I bet they dont come up very often on ebay.

not sure the vec c came with color and brown screen so hard to say from that link
