depending on where you live some of the members on here can supply and fit a new head

god knows how warped the head is as a result of overheating

best off finding a 2nd hand engine and fitting it as you gonna need to replace the chains, water pump

agree with what vocky said about water pump failing causing HG failure

strange how gunk only came apparent after they took out the stat

I did find a new engine with a 12 month warranty for £250, but it's the cost of fitting it, we just haven't got the funds. We may as well sell it for spares or repairs and get something else cheap.

hmm I wouldn't scrap it unless you know you gonna get a decent motor cheap

lucky if you find a decent car for under 2k

We can't afford decent, it will have to be something around the same age. Cars are money pits, I should have trained as a mechanic when I left school all those years ago.:LOL:

Now my husband wants me to find out how much it would cost to put a new engine in. I wish he would make up his mind, he dismissed it when I told him the other day.:mad:
