Odd Oil....

So i got home tonight and i thought best check the oil ready for winter and all etc......

Anyway car has been tapping from front end recently so thought this might be down to lack of oil, oil seemed ok however when i went to top it up i found ( below ) this on my oil cap which i have no idea what it is or if this is something seriously wrong, coolant seems ok and car still seems to perform ok....

Slight it of "mayo" has the car done a few short journeys recently or was it just started and then switched off? It's probably just a bit of condensation if you take the car for good run then check again.

As Si said, it looks to have emulsified around the top of the crank case. That will happen if the car is only doing short journeys, as the oil isn't getting up to temperature to evaporate all the water condensation out of it. Take it for a good 60 minute plus thrash down the motorway, and that should get rid of it.

Yeh i only use it to work generally its around 7 miles a day from 9am till about 8pm so its just sat there normally not doing anything, went back out tonight and its gone from the oil cap so just wiped it down anyway and checked oil dipstick oil is normal color so maybe just condensation, :-)
