Corsa Vxr Ice Install = Finished

With special thanks going out to Andy (AKA Autosparks) who some may know from other forums i finally got my audio install up and running.

I know the equipment isn't 'the best' but i wasn't after competition standard and i didn't want to break the bank as i wasn't sure if id be owning this car for long.

Pioneer AVH4400BT 7" Touchscreen Headunit with Bass Controller
Vibe BlackAir 6 Component Speakers (345 watts)
2 x 12" Sony XL12S Slim subwoofers (1500 watts each)
1 x Sony XM-GTR2202 Amplifier (1400 watts)
Boot floor lined with 3 sheets of dynamat superlite

Headunit works from the steering controls still which is great, and the clarity on the bluetooth is perfect

Although there is a lot of bass everything does start to rattle even at halfway, but fortunately i didnt buy it for loudness, more how punchy the bass is now.

All in all im very happy with the finished article and thats what really matters i guess.

Wow that looks like a job well done! The boot install looks awesome! I didn't realise you could get subs that are so compact!

They're only 80mm deep but they certainly pack a punch

That looks spot on! Do those subs not need a specific box air volume to work then? I'm really interested in them after seeing your install, as I feel my set up is now missing the extra kick a sub provides, but I don't fancy loosing 1/2 the boot again.

They need to be in a box 749mm x 455mm x 148mm.

Mine is about 940mm x 550mm x 160mm so for 2No isnt far off ideal.

They do sound pretty good though i must admit so all seems to be ok

Cool, thanks for that. Have you used any sound proofing in the boot as well to try and cut down on the vibrations?

I used 12 square feet of dynamat in the boot making a couple of layers worth.

I have another 36 square feet that i was going to use to do the rest of the car, but i just dont have the skills to rip my car apart to do that so ive just made do with just doing the boot

I know what you mean. I've had my VXR in bits a few times now, but I always get the feeling something hasn't gone back correctly. I've got a rattle around the bottom of the MFD that I've been meaning to take a look at, which started when I swapped out the HU for the Pioneer.
