Car Radio Poor Reception

I deal a lot with Zafira's 02 - 04 models every week and one think has me baffled that i thought i would ask the question

A lot of the Zafira's that come in have poor radio reception (bad signal) compared to the standard unit (excellent signal)

Is there a reason for this? does the standard unit have a built in amplifier?

Antenna amplifier is built into the antenna base.
If they are using an aftermarket headunit the adaptor may not be plugged all the way in. It's a real tight fit and I've seen a few that just need to be pushed in a couple more mm.
