I had a heart in me mouth moment driving last night after dopping the in-laws off. I meant to stop at the end of the road to turn left and my car carried straight on nearly smacked into another car! The gritters haven't been out anywhere except for the main roads. grr.

frozen half melted snow down here in Buckinghamshire, it was only about 20mm before it frooze
