Running Problems.

Don't know if anybody can help but here goes. My 51 plate Vec B seems to like chucking the EML light on. The EGR has been changed for s banking plate and cheater. Fault codes have been checked and point to O2 sensors and an open EGR valve. Tech 2 was then tried and all seems to be ok, although the EML still comes on. Next problem is it's not happy when after starting from cold, it starts fine but as the idle comes down it is quite lumpy until it settles on it's normal idle, and even that's not smooth. I drove another Z22 recently and that seems so much more powerful. Don't know if any of these problems are related. Been told that the balance shafts could not be timed up correctly and be a tooth out. History of the car is it has 57k on the clock and shortly before I bought it the head was replaced because the chain broke. Any ideas would be appreciated as the last cars I worked on were old Cortina's. Lol.

some codes wont go without either a reset or disconnecting the battery

Mostly been checked on a cheap reader and switched off but later a Tech 2 was used.

tech 2 wont do much more than a cheap reader when it comes to ecu lights

they can however reprogram the ecu to ignore the egr

I am more concerned as to why your ecu light is on so basically I am saying get the codes read again and tell us what they are

also with some cheap readers they dont work correctly

Ok next time I see my mate I'll get the codes read and post them up on here.
