Induction Kits / Cone Filters

Just wondering what experiences people have had with these types of filters and the Z22, i used to have a C20XE cav and know how much that engine hated em.

Are the Z22's the same or can it be a decent mod to do.

Noticed a chap on here with SE2 (cant remember ur username, sorry mate) has the induction cone running direct from the inlet pipework. if this doenst cause any issues, what size neck filter do i need to obtain ?

The Z22SE engine is renowned for being an extremely hot under the bonnet engine. The majority of people I have had this conversation with all say to stay away from the induction kits unless you can shield the cone and feed it with cool air.

yeah agree with JohnnyN, most people tend to go for a panel filter over an induction kit.

lovely jubbly.... ive just bought a veccy C intake pipe, just gotta work out how to get the lights n bumper out to get the bugger in now lol

airbox is derestricted too so thats a gd start.

Check the how to section mate. You don't need to remove the lights or bumper to do this mod. It's easier dropping the rad back a touch by removing the brackets, then just slide the new parts in 🙂

so you just undid the top rad bolts and that gave enough space to get it all ok ?

explain a bit futther matey???

you just cut the intake nose off that sticks out over the rad?, is the rest of the pipe small enough to slide thru then, without removing lights, bumper or nething?

f.a.o Mark, which way do you have to move the rad in, towards the front or towards engine? and i take it, its the 2 star screws connected to bodywork with rubber mounts behind
