Disaster!!

Well today i finally got my EGR Cheater fitted along with blanking plate and car was running great untill half way home 6 mile drive, i noticed a burning smell and revs running higher than normal, my first thought was " maybe the egr cheater? "

No...

I got home and some ungrateful t*at...... has put a 5 foot hair extension wig up my scorpion back box and rammed it fully up there, it was hanging out the tail pipe when i pulled up at home, i managed to remove what i thought was all of it unfortunately i have lots still stuck in the smaller pipe connecting to backbox and i cant remove it! its also smoking when exhaust is hot which im worried is going to cause further damage, the car now runs ok but im still unsure of what to do next, is it the end for my exhaust system :-(

Holy shit! Can you remove the exhaust, and burn out the remaining bits that are stuck in there?

Are you sure its not the silencer material ? It does that sometimes... need a new backbox.. !

Yeh i checked to see if it was that material as its very course material but it has blonde streaks in it and hair clips, im hoping alan the astra isnt a girl :/ haha!

Its smoking a tad so i think its burning it away, cant see any issues with driving so i may have had a lucky escape and blown the majority of it out, i can still see a clump in the smaller pipe leading from backbox but the flow doesnt appear to be effected.

As Mike said a good blast should melt the rest away.

Yup taking it for a blast regularly now since the egr cheater fitted and blanking plate, so much better to drive :-D ... its a shame people do that especially when i think its someone who i work with, jealous more like.

Its wadding! I've had that on a 2 of my cars in the past. Definately wadding!

Actually, that really does look like the wadding, and it's black from the soot from the exhaust.

Really ?? :/ My exhaust aint got louder though and the car runs better much better in fact smoother i would say, when cold i would go as far as saying my exhaust is slightly quieter? lol

it had metal clips of some sort in only two i found though, had look underneath today and it all seems solid no signs of damage or anything and looked through exhaust still a little remains but not coming out.... untill it collapses then i might have a problem as said previously but for now... all is good i hope 😉
