richamondo2012 Sorry if in the incorrect section.... What size are front door speakers and how easy are they to remove and change? Thanks in advance 🙂
Matt 17cm front speakers. They are really easy to remove. Same process as I did on the MK5: New Speakers
richamondo2012 Thank You :-D its pioneer im after to match the HU... is there some bolts at the bottom of door frame to remove first and panels just pull off i assume?
richamondo2012 Thanks, Willl have a look in the week when im not working see if i can find these, the Pioneer TS-Q172C speakers look the business and will be ordering soon :-)
Matt I'm very pleased with them. Sound a lot better than the OE ones, even without an amp powering them. They are a perfect fit as well, so no messing about needed adapter plates etc.
deus-solus Just wondering with you saying about your amp where's the best place to put the power cable. thanks
Matt deus-solus said: Just wondering with you saying about your amp where's the best place to put the power cable. thanks I always run the power feed down the same side of the car as the battery, so the near side. Run the RCA and the 5v power feed down the opposite side so you don't get any interference.
deus-solus How have you gone threw the car to the engine bay do I need to drill or is there another way. Thanks.
Matt on the MK4 there is a rubber grommet in the bulk head you can go through. If you take a glove box out, you'll be able to access it easily enough from the inside of the car as well.
stu-2_2-sri U need to poke e rubber wih a screwdriver to make a wee hole then poke the cable hru it the bulk then run it on left side o rear u need to unclip the plastic sill over off inside to hide the cabe behind the cable tidy
richamondo2012 I had to drill to get my wiring through for the amp :-( grommit didnt seem to exsist lol
