Hi all

Got a new coupe this week, problem is I only have the green part of the log book, which has been stamped for tax before but I need to tax it as its out of tax now. The kid I bought it off I know and he has lost the log book, and so the slip is from when he had bought it but he had to use it to tax the car. Now I know I can apply for a new logbook but that may take upTo 4 weeks to come and need the car on the road before then if I can. So was just wondering if anyone knows if I can use the green slip even though its been stamped to tax the car in the past ?

Sure you can only use the green slip once to tax it.

i thought the green part is the new keeper supplement to prove you are the new owner of the vehicle whilst the new v5 is processed ?

i had the same problem with my old car. i ended up having to go to my local dvla office with the green part and tax reminder and explained that i had not recieved to log book. they assumed it had been lost in the post and taxed the car for me there and then an sent out a new log book.
