I keep getting the EML light (car with spanner) come on, on long journeys. It stays on for a while & then goes off again.
While driving around town & general driving it doesnt come on.
I've used opcom to read the fault & it comes up with;
P1574 - Brake Light Switch malfunction
(00) - Not present
P0571 - Brake Switch Circuit
(00) - Not present
When i clear the codes & drive it again same results, general driving nothing but long journeys (mostly driving on the A3 to work) it flashes up & stays on for awhile & then goes out.
Im confused as to why it would only come on while driving long journeys were im not using the brakes as muck compared to driving around towns if the switch was breaking down or it was a loose connection?
So i could replace the brake peddle switch, which i've read is a nightmare to replace, hoping this could solve my issue or could it be something else??
