standard z22se head safe power levels

Hi gents, currently looking to replace my stock Sc'd engine with one I'm building up. The intention is to have something bombproof around 300 bhp. Rods/ pistons will be replaced, but I was looking to keep the standard head with blower cams etc
Before I send it off to the machine shop am I wasteing my time and should I just Source a b207 head. My preference if its able to cope with the hike is to keep the standard to keep costs down.

My current engine is making 250 on standard internals

z22se head will cope with more than the block can handle 🙂

saab head just means you don't have to worry about cracking caused by spark plugs

hi there.. need help. after battling for 8 months with an oil leak the Opel Zafira dealer finally diagnosed the problem as intake manifold leaking oil on a breather pipe. will this increase fuel consumption as I drive the car every day in traffic...

thats a standard problem, just wash out the inlet manifold if it's got lots of oil inside

hi Vocky... vehicle was at dealership 5 or 6 times already. apparently the intake manifold is warped. is it difficult to replace the entire manifold or can I have it skimmed... . I am no mechanic but I do know how to work a spanner...

z22se inlet manifolds are dirt cheap secondhand, so just replace it 🙂

Lost count of how many I have thrown away over the years after fitting a SC :confused:

thanks bro..unlucky for me these things are very scarce in south Africa. can only get them new at the agents and there is a minimum of 8 week waiting period....do u think it will effect my cars performance...

theres an oil cooled ecotec block
the supercharger manifold bolts to the head and it fits the saab head and the z22se head with blocking the PCV
