Best way to spend some money on z22se

Ive done a search and read of what can be done to our engines.

2.4 inlet, cams, throttle bodies, dbilas inlet, etc etc

Ive currently only got a panel filter, ported TB and an Irmscher exhaust on my 2003 Astra Coupe.

Im selling a car so will have upto £2000 to spend - that doesnt mean i need to spend it all.

but whats best to do for power/money ratio.

DIY supercharger! @[deleted] has just done his Vectra, and worked out about 1800 quid if you can do the work yourself

I did ask Pottsey about his after seeing the TV feature, but the only thing is i couldnt take my car off the road for long periods of time. so unless i pay for a charger conversion to be done, then a charger is out of the question.

how much are throttle bodies?

being as its my reliable car though, i want things to be as quick and reliable as possible too

Thorny motorsport who supply the throttle bodies said to me its not as simple to fit them to a astra, clearance issue with the bonnet etc that's why I ended up going to regal and having the flow tec inlet and exhaust manifold with software fitted for £1700 and that was done and dusted in a day

I would get a decent manifold, sports cat, downpipe and cat back system
looking around 1200

piper cams for a few hundred

should get u in the mid to high 160's

could go down the supercharger route but u also have to lok at suspension & brakes as the standard set-up brakes struggles under 150bhp

Suspension and brakes have already been uprated. Brakes to gsi 308 spec.

Remap, cams and exhaust sound like reasonable starting points.

Wheres good for cams and exhaust?

Webcon throttle bodies are £2300 if bought direct from webcon, t m s want £3035 :confused:

a secondhand 2.4 inlet manifold, a tullet 4-1 exhaust manifold, 2.5" downpipe with sports cat and a pair of stage 1 cams will be a good upgrade

Ive seen the chris tullet manifold for £500, where can cams be brought from?

I have a ported 2.2 inlet in the loft that i nwed to fit too instead of the 2.4 inlet

right well the mods have begun.

Remap and Dbilas exhaust manifold booked in at MPG next week. Cant wait.

already got my ported throttle body and the ported inlet will go on after too.

what improvements will these mods make in the driveability of the car?
