Is There Any Point?

Having just found out that my car cannot be mapped (a person may have figured out how to), I have become despondent!

My car is currently running a 2.25" exhaust complete with Lexmaul 4-1 200 cell sports manicat. Is there any point in doing anything else? Can't see cams being any good now as they can't be mapped in. Really wanted 190-200 bhp out of my Vectra C. Love the car and will not sell it, just want more power!

Can anyone give me some advice on which steps to take next? Need some gurus who fully understand these engines lol.

U proby running at least 160 or 165 with that
If u get a piper am it gain extra 10-15 bhp

Hi mate, my car was tested on a RR before any mods commenced and it ran a standard 164 bhp with 173 lb/ft torque. Hopefully it is still around that power as a minimum with the mods.

Can I fit cams without a remap?

I was the same mate, really surprised! My friends Omega MV6 ran 220 bhp on the same RR which it has done consistently on separate rolling roads. Mine has run this power on 2 separate rolling road sessions. Wheel horsepower was 141 bhp and 139 bhp respectively.

Wasn't aware cams could be fitted without a map, thanks mate. I'm also thinking a good quality and well set-up nitrous kit, perhaps a 25 bhp shot.

Chipped UK mapped a 2.2 Vec C, the owner was over the moon with his map but........Chipped UK dont really have the best reputation and as far as I know they dont exist any more.

Do a search on Chipped UK you will find plenty of posts of them many even on here!

Cheers for the heads up guys. I'm hanging fire on remapping my car until Paul from Vectra-C confirms the ECU can definitely be mapped. Will be a long trip to his neck of the woods, but worth it if I can get a map!

Could I fit an ECU from a VX220, Vectra B or Astra G to my Vectra C? I know the Vec is half canbus. Would this cause any issues?

My other option is to research in to megasquirt ECU's.
