z22se into frontera 2.0 sport.help

i have just bought a vectra c with the 2.2 petrol.with the intention of removing engine to put in my frontera sport .i do not have any issue with the mechanics involved.but could do with some help with the electrics .ie . what is needed to make it run and what is needer from the donner car .

the biggest issue will be the bellhousing, there is not a z22se rear wheel drive bellhousing available in the uk, you can get one fom the states as they are used in the RWD Solstice.

You will also need the ecu/transponder/key chips from the donor vehicle, plus the complete engine loom and you will have to divide up the car loom to remove all the transponder wiring.
You should also mark up the Tech2 loom plug so it can be retro fitted into the frontera.

Other than that it should be straight forward, but it might be cheaper to just buy a 2.2 omega as that engine bolts right in (x22xe)

Hi I was under the understanding that this engine would fit the 2.0 gearbox as I know a let engine fits and thought thay shared the same mounting configurations.? Plz corect me is this is wrong. .also I am a complete novice at wireing so a more complete step by step guide would be needed.any help would be appreciated.thanks.

the starter motor is on the opposite side of the engine, so there is no chance of the z22se engine fitting a x20xe bellhousing.

Wiring would be a big job, your best bet would be to sell the vectra z22se and buy an omega 2.2 with the x22xe or z22xe

Thanks for your info.so it looks like I will have to sell the engine and start looking for an omega.at least it was not to expensive of a mistake as the engine only owes me £200 on a 53 reg with 78k but has a knackered auto box.looks like an other job for ebay.
