What causes oil usage?

Hey Guys

I have a couple of Zafiras as do my mates all with the Z22SE

What i want to know his how to stop oil usage.

Ok so here is what is happening all the Zafiras use oil on some degree and some are worse than others.

I have a collection of 5 Zafiras and all behave differently. 2 of them have had NEW rings put in due to high excess oil usage however after this one of theme still uses oil??

Now i know its not burning the oil but it is blowing quite heavily out the cam breather and into the intake reserve.

My question is WHY IS THIS?

i have tried thin and thick oil but it makes no difference it just keep blowing out the came breather.

And yes i dont over fill it

Sorry should have also mention that they have Fully reconditioned heads with new valves and seals.

Problem is oil blowing in the cam breather

worn cylinder bores 🙁

I had two blocks measured for standard bore sized pistons, both blocks were way out of tolerence and had to be rebored for oversized pistons.

One block had done 50k and the other 70k.

The 2 cars in question have been bored and honed and oversize pistons and rings put in

but one of them still uses oil
