Cost of supercharging?

I know theres an off the shelf kit from CS that costs thousands, but there also seems to be a lot of people that have managed to do a supercharger conversion themselves.

what sort of costs are we talking to get all parts needed, roughly of course.

fair play. thats a great price to do it for. doe that include mapping?

yes mate it is mine
800 odd pound for charger ,manifold ,manifold supporting bracket and gaskets ,bolts from states ,yes included in price was mapping etc and setting up,then several other bits from courtenays which only they stock,injectors and injector plugs off e bay

did you have the car off the road while doing the conversion? how long did it take?

Ive always wanted to 'charge my Astra Coupe (which was also featured in TV a few years back) but only after reading your feature its brought it back to the forefront again

yeah had it off road about 5 weeks but was only on it few hours at weekends and the odd bit during the week ,had the wifes car so wasnt too rushed .the majority of the extending the wiring was done before hand ,so all that was left to do on the wiring side was the injectors and the water pump relay then the extending of the battery cables

the sc conversion can be done in a day if you know what you are doing, but allow a week or so if you have never done one
