why do i loose power

i have a vectra b 2.2 but it acts strangely when im plodding along if i want full throttle i only have to stick my accelerator pedal down a little bit if i try and stick pedal to metal (foot all the way down) then it don't seem as quick almost as if it holds back until i lift my foot up is this normal on vectra's what could be the problem i have done air box 3 pipe mod blanked off egr valve and put on egr cheetah and cleaned throttle body changes spark plugs

It flat spot is the problem
Need better cold air
Better throttle body like port n polished
Precat the downpipe full stainless system it will help a bit

I had a similar problem with my Vectra Elite 2.2. It would seemingly start and move off OK but when trying to accelerate, and especially going uphill, there was a big drop off in power. The car went into my local GM workshop and they diagnosed a blocked exhaust. It was then found to be the catalytic converter which had broken up inside. The fitter showed it me after fitting a new one and the inside was in various bits. This was obviously allowing exhaust gases to pass through at slow speed, but blocking them at higher speed, consequently holding the power back. All OK now.
