hi there i have read many of the threads and am still finding it difficult to work out what the problem is with my 2001 2.2i 16v vectra b. it starts fine but the engine sounds like a metal chain being dragged along a sheet of metal, very raspy, and i don't have as much power as i thought i would have especially when there is more than one person in the car. i have to drop to my gears right down and get over 4000 revs before i can even think of overtaking. even then it is slow. if i put my foot to the floor nothing happens i have to just touch the pedal slightly then i get more response please help. i have picked up in the threads that i could be faced with a egr valve problem and a cam chain problem just wanting to get a bit more confirmation before buying parts. the car has done 137000 miles.
