Hi All,

I have had a problem with the above on my 2003 Signum 2.2, the problem being that it was very noisy when the steering wheel was turned, it was filled with fluid correctly but made a loud buzzing noise, the steering works fine, I took it to vauxhall and they said it needed a new pump, I bought a second hand one and was assured it worked fine, I have put it on and bled the system but the second hand pump is making the same noises as the old one, is there some, thing I have done wrong when changing them, or is it a case of being sold a broken pump? Can anyone give me some advice please.

They do whine mate, especially at full lock.

Before the old one started to make noise it was very quiet, its really noisy now.

You could always try re bleeding it, if there faulty they throw a fault code usually, have you any lights on the dash? Normal code readers wont show any codes, if you have opcom that should work.

No lights on dash at all, did re-bleed earlier today but still noisy.

Please, could somebody tell me what im doing wrong, I have just bought another pump and put it on and even filled it with the fluid from Vauxhall, and its just as noisy, I have followed all the steps correctly that are on TIS2000, but the pump is very loud, does it need to be programmed as per the instructions on TIS? The bloke in Vauxhall told me today that they dont have to be programmed, is this the case or not? Please help as its beginning to really annoy me. Thanks, Alan.

As far as I know they do need tech 2ing into the car to communicate properly to the CIM unit

Do you know if you can program it with that OP COM software? Also when I was bleeding the pump earlier it got really hot, is this normal?
