Had a great quote beginning of the year for my astra 2.2 so around May time I paid an extra £150 so my missus could be insured fully comp without affecting my own NCD.

I then bought my missus a car a week ago [so I didn't have to worry about her writing my car off], then set about looking for insurance . I rang up Adrian Flux initially to find out if they could insure her but they wanted to take her off my insurance which was fine so I set about looking to recoup the 150 quid... 10 minutes later they had recalculated my premium had increased by the good part of 90 quid since the beginning of the year and that also i had to pay 30 quid administration charge. It worked out that i was owed £10 if i was to remove the missus from my premium so I left it alone. I also told them that my partner would be looking elsewhere for insurance so forget about quoting her up

Not only have you lost a prospective customer but you will also lose me very soon

SO be aware fellow z22se'ers if you add an additional driver then want to remove them then dont expect any refunds with Adrian Flux

I made that mistake as well Mike, ended up my premium over the year increased even though I only added her on for a day!

i did ring you up as my partner had collected 2 yrs ncb from you

you quoted nearly 300% more than her current policy

than made out you will match after quoting me a silly amount

you need to sort out your customer service especially for existing customers and cut out the BS

This is why I've also gone elsewhere. Why quote me almost £1,000 for my initial renewal, but then still manage to get it down to £500 after a bit of back and forth?

I think you've hit the nail on the head there Mike. Some people are probably too lazy to shop around, and just accept the renewal :inpain:

MikeS, I'm sorry you feel abused but we're brokers, not insurers. We're here to negotiate with the insurers (literally) to get you the best rate. We want to work WITH you not against you. I suspect what happened was that you didn't disclose your partner's quote. We would have then only had the screen rates as our guide - which tells us what the main market would quote. With your partner's quote we'd have had the ammo to negotiate a lower rate with the insurer (which is why we then offered the possible price match).
