Car failed it's MOT

My car failed it's MOT yesterday. I have only had it a few weeks so here is what it failed on. It failed on........

2x Drop links
2x Front coil springs
Rear tyre not legal, worn on the inside.

I get the car back later from Vauxhall with a price tag for the parts fitted at £400 with a new MOT

That's not too bad, nice and easy things to fix at least.

True, I just see it as general wear and tear. It's to be expected at having 90k on the clock.

£250 sounds abit high but i suppose thats better branded parts than what my cars had 😮 mines need 2 top rose bushes front droplinks and arb, rear abr new shock or shocks.. brake line front to rear drivers side... oh and tc and abs lights on all the time (he past it last year for me tho) i be happy to get £250 for my car lmao

i think they charge you retail prices when they supply & fit

Well it's back and all done. They have pissed me off though, they have wrote a few things on the mot thats advisory and it could put someone off buying my car.

Exhaust
oil leak
and other stuff.
I don't want to spend anything else on this car, as I am saving for a better car. This was just a run around for me. Vauxhall have probably ruined my chances of ever selling this car 🙁

Mark, I very much doubt a few advisorys will deter future buyers, when the car is the age it is and if you sell at a non priemium price.

The switch also on the drivers door does not operate the passenger window. They had that as a Red area. They said the flexy pipe at the front is on it's way out, is that the part with the cat fitted? They said it was corroded

Main dealers talk thru there arse's mark. theres prob the tinyest bit of rust on the exhaust. And as for the windows switch. A red area. Thats bollocks

Sounds the same when Amy's Corsa had the MOT. There is a tiny blow on the middle box, and they wanted almost £400 for a new system.....even though it was only an advisory.

remember a m8 going to vxhall with a mrk3 astra diesel and been quoted 1250 to replace all the brake pipes amongst other things

i told him to go get it mot'd elsewhere but instead he paid vauxhall cos he thought they were looking after him
