jp6 hi guys. the coupe has a annoying shake at around 60-70mph. had the wheels re balanced which helped a little so then fitted spigot rings as i didnt have any before. still no better. ive checked for play in all ball joints and bearings and there is nothing. however this does not always shake. if i accelerate steady then she fine but if i give her some beans and let off she shakes your fillings out. ideas welcome. cheers jp
Matt Is the shake constant while going at a constant speed (ie shakes all the time when doing 65mph say)?
miniator correct bolts/spigot rings used? bushings perhaps? buckled wheels? just read your fitted new brakes - did the shake occur around the same time?
jp6 yeh it shook before the brakes was changed. 1 of the front wheels has more weights then the other 3 so when my rims come back from paint shop im guna put that on the rear and see if it helps. spigot rings are correct for wheel make and hub diameter. i do have a pair of 2ndhand bottom arms and ball joints that were fitted to the astra i broke for parts but they are 2weeks old so will fit them at some stage and rule that out.

jp6 yeh had all 4 balanced when i had the 2 tyres fitted. the worst wheel has 45g fitted to it. the others are 15g and 2x 30g so not that bad tbh. ive seen alot worse.
rushy Swapping the fronts to the back could reveal a wheel/tyre problem. Sent from my Xperia S using Tapatalk 2
jp6 alreet folks. sent the car to get wheels refurbed this morning. asked him to swap front to rear when re fitting and she has stopd shaking. so im happy again 🙂.
