Anyone replaced a CIM on a Vectra??

I'm starting to get problems with the CIM Unit. cruise control letting go, and warnings from the front steering angle sensor. I took it to the garage a while ago, and they said I needed the CIM replacing.

Has anyone done this?? and if so whats needed?

Did Vauxhall ever do a recall on the Vectra? I had mine repaired under recall on the VXR.

CIM is a ball ache to replace as it has to be coded back in and i wouldn't like to use a cheapo opcom to do it in all honesty

Before you start looking at the CIM first give the abs plug a clean with a quick spray of wd40 or some contact cleaner. Pull the tab on the top of it and the plug will lift right odd. Your thinking why the abs plug.......tbh I can't remember now but there linked and cleaning this plug has solved many a dealer quoted "CIM" fault code including mine.

Where can I find the abs plug?

Its just behind the battery box mate. The plug is on top of the abs unit.
