front and rear disks/pads -alternatives for replacement

looks like i need front and rear disks again.not sure ill go with the same ones again tho.they have worn very quickly and the front ones are scored(but pads not worn down) and one is slightly warped.

any other combo's that you guys have used on here that you can recommend? i currently used the ebc drilled and grooved with red stuff pads

Ebc are a very soft disk. Can you guys get dba over there?
My old 280mm setup disks were the same thickness as when new with over 100k km. Current 321s are 15k km and still full thickness. I run textar pads.
This setup is excellent for road and never had any issues on the track either.

They are an oem upgrade here in australia. They also make more performance orientated disks.
Pads are not performance. Textar are the oem supplier for the latest opel range.

Red Stuff pads are shit! Period! Way too hard! I've changed all mine over to Yellow. Best setup that I've had on any of my cars.

From my experience... all EBC pads are useless for road use ! i had yellow stuff pads and black diamond discs in my first 600 turbo, great if you get um hot... put you through the windscreen good ! But i managed to get break fade with them coming down a mountain road in Scotland so not great... and for normal driveing they just were not very effective.
My latest 600 turbo has the ebay upgrade on it, grooved discs and redstuff pads, they are rubbish lol, i can honestly say my current car with unipart discs and delphi pads is by far the better setup for everyday driveing, depends what you are useing the car for really, cant go far wrong with OE stuff if you not upgradeing the size of the whole setup really.

Oh i had EBC Greenstuff pads in a Golf Vr6, they where fine actually 🙂

No, Courtenay 308 16 groove discs.

I put Mintex discs and pads on the front of my Astra a few months ago. I can't fault them.

I have also had two lots of Mintex on mine, ca not fault them either, although Saab OEM grooved discs and police spec Vauxhall pads where tip top albeit very expensive now.

Poundy do you have a 308 setup?

They are a straight fit Paul. The Courtenay discs are also Mintex discs. If you already have 308mm discs then you just swap as normal. And yes, Yellow Stuff pads bite from cold. Yellow pads are on a par with Police Spec pads in performance and dust.

i dont have the 308 i think mine are the next size down

yeah they have been fine mate, time for an upgrade now tho lol so do you need a conversion eo put the larger ones on?

You just need new caliper carriers paul. Think lmf still do them new, or just find a gsi thats being broke and get them from that...

Cricket Paul how have you stopped the car on standard size discs and the additional power you have, I wet my pants frits time I took the Astra out for a test drive on standard power, it was the first upgrade I did.

they are ebc tho with red stuff and i have found them ok once they had warmed up, till i got some more last year and they didnt seem as good as the first ones i had.time for a change!
