What, you mean the new ones?
I was only haveing a laugh 😉
That said, the old ones used to jump/rattle/stretch etc due to this oil spray nozzle for the chain right ? So does that mean that all post 2002 engines with the modified spray nozzle are all ok and never have the same issue ?? I only ask as i know of at least one other 2003 car (black rocker cover) that rattles abit on startup, presumably that is just general wear o_O
Also, haveing removed that smaller nozzle from my knackered engine the hole was perfectly clear, personally i reckon the fault is lack of maintanence and oil filters falling apart, it could count for almost all the faults i have see on this forum.... cam shaft seizing, chain oil spray nozzles blocking, oil ways blocking causing bottom end issues... that and the fact they tend to use some oil as standard and people not even checking the oil level !
It seems to me its simply very important to give it regular oil and filter changes as its filter is not up to lasting very well :rolf:
I had a look at an aftermarket chain kit the other day, it was ok tbh, the chains themselfs where fine and quality looking items, sprockets etc also looked absoulutly fine, the oil spray nozzle was of the modified type etc etc, the tensioner looked well made, the only thing i didnt like was the lack of a decent looking washer for the tensioner to head seal, it was a fiber jobbie...
Put it this way, i would rather have new aftermarket ones that 60k + old origionals, espeacially on the older car.
