Mixing again

I have started mixing more again now. I was using my mates decks at his house now and again but I bought myself a new set. I have the Pioneer Dj Ergo. They are a good setup, the Virtual Dj software you get is a bit crappy, the mixes sound digital, alterd in ways. The mixes sounded poor quality. I am using a free Dj Intro Serato software and thats great. The music sounds original, my mixes sound crisp again. The only thing with this new software is you can't record like the Virtual Dj software does. I will work around that, I have an idea. So expect some free mixes and more of them from me 🙂

Funny thing is Matt it cost £430, but then after I bought it I went onto Pioneers web site and they have an £80 cashback offer on, so I took that up and they are sending me £80 back 🙂

It is Matt, I am happy with it. I just need to sort out the recording part so I can do some new mixes.

I was looking at it because it works with the iPad and also with the software I use. The controller I have is old now and really flakey, especially on windows 7

Well I went out today and bought a new controller.

Had a play with it for a few hours, and I can't believe the difference over my old Hercules MK1, it's so much faster and better to use.

I've also paid for the upgrade to Traktor Pro 2

I like it Matt, what made you pick that mixer? It looks good. Did you watch any Youtube vids before you bought it as thats what I did before I bought mine. I could do with Tracktor 2 for my mixer, the virtual dj is rubbish. I am using Serato Dj Into

Yeah, I spent a while looking on the Numark site, and watching videos on youtube for it. I like the fact it's designed to work with Traktor.

Does your controller work with MixVibes Mark, as I've got a copy of that you can have?

I am not sure Matt, I will have to see if my Pioneer works with it. Cheers. Matt I am stuck on recording my mixes into my pc. I have my Pioneer rigged up to my Sony HI-FI and my pc. I have a set of leads coming from the Pioneer to the line in port of the pc, but the audio is rubbish / low quality

That is why I bought the full version of Traktor, as it can record straight off the sound card.

I'll upload the software now for you, and you can at least try it (you can actually record the midi output and programme the software to match your controller, so that may be an option)

The Virtulal Dj lets you record your mixes but the software is poo, the mixes sound weird, digital like and not clear. The music sounds false in Virtual Dj. Cheers Matt

I wish I could do a full mix, just audio. I need to sort my wiring out. I am stuck on whats to wire up to what :confused:

What connections are you unsure about?

The ones to go to my pc to record the Audio. There is a free Audio recording download to use with programs like what we use. It's called Audacity and it's good. I just don't know what leads to wire up from my mixer to the pc. At the moment I have it going into the line in on my pc port.

So it's USB from the PC to the mixer to control the software. Does the controller have a built in sound card then? How have you got it wired to your speakers?
