Would you buy a car thats had 8 owners?

I have found a car thats a good price. It has 80K on the clock, part service history. It's a 2005 Vectra C Sri and it's had 8 owners! The car is 6 hours drive for me, so thats a long train drive down to collect it. I am about to secure it with a deposit. I have HPI checked the car and all seems ok apart from all the owners. The car is just over £1200

iv done it on a seat and within 4 weeks the gearbox went only had 44000 on it. depends on how tidy it is and if its been looked after tho. the thing is why has it had 8 owners is it a piece of crap or is it the people who have had it didnt like or or just swap their cars every 6months. after the seat tho im sort of put of by a car with lots of owners.

I don't normally go for cars with lots of owners myself. The guy who has it has bought an Audi. His wife uses the car and the pictures did show 2 baby seats in the car so it is in use daily. I asked him to be honest with me and he said it's fine. Next question is how do I get to Dorset the quickest way, will a plane take me lol?

6hr drive is a bit of away to go 🙁 spose if its a private seller its better just have to go over it twice before you say yes.
i got lucky with my last 2 cars the 1st was parked in the layby over the road right in front of the shop i worked in at the time, and my sri i found it on ebay when i contacted the seller he told me where he was 10 min walk up the road 😉

trouble is to fly down you need to find the closet airport, then find a way from there to where the car is, train is just as bad as well as expensive.

Well it's another 2.0 Turbo, my girlfriend went for this one. She has been huntng on the net the past few days and came up with this 2005 Sri Turbo

8 owners aint that bad for a 7 year old car. Its the sort of car people buy then get fed up putting petrol in very quickly, especially as prices rise. However if the current owner has only had it for a short time and the previous owner didnt keep it long, then it's a sign the car could have a potential problem or an intermittent fault that may only manifest itself after you have driven it half an hour up the road. You know the usual things to check and make sure you see it started from cold and give it a good test drive in a variety of conditions. If the seller has nothing to hide then he should be fine with that.

Well the current owner said he took the car in part ex. I was thinking it's not the sort of car you can buy cheap in the first place to have not liked it at some point.

As said, 8 owners on a larger car can be quite common, due to people not being able to afford to run them once they have them.

It does look in good condition. I asked him to be honest about it and he said it's sound. A few of those owners could have been car garages, family members
