rik1083 just fitted arp head bolts but 1/2" socket snapped half way though getting them to final torque! 80ft lbs seems reallly high is it right? also what does it mean if some of the studs stick out further than the others? the instructions said to hand tighten so i did
rik1083 now I can't find anywhere that sells a 12 point 1/2" drive deep 1/2" socket bloody americans 🙁 and not the easiest thing to search for with all the 12's in threre
vocky I use an imperial allen key to fit the studs, you can feel when they hit the bottom of the threads - then back off half a turn 80 ft lb's is correct, don't forget the molly grease
rik1083 3 of them are deeper than the others the question is have i gone too deep on the 3 or not deep enough on the other 7? Borrowed a 1/2 inch from electricians at work, hope it comes back in 1 piece 😛
vocky they will all go to the same depth with an allen key, there is not much thread showing above the nuts
rik1083 Thanks will give it a go tonight rik1083 said: Borrowed a 1/2 inch from electricians at work, hope it comes back in 1 piece :p or to put it another way I half-inched their half-inch 😃
rik1083 sorted about 4 threads outstanding on each a little tighter than hand-tight for the last few turns but can definately feel when it hits the rim then backed off 1/2 a turn
