Mark_Dj I sold my Sri 2.0 Turbo Vectra C yesterday 🙁. Never mind, time to look for something a bit cheaper. How much is the car tax these days on a Vauxhall 2.2 Vectra C? I have a small budget for a temp car till I get back on my feet again. Looking to spend about £1500 at the most. What are the 1.8 Vectra C's like? Cheers
Matt Tax on the 2.2 Vec C would be about the same as the 2.0 you just got rid of Mark. The 1.8 Vectra C's are the VVTI engines, so about 140bhp.

MikeS they are a nice drive pretty quiet & and handle well however they suffer with massive electrical problems - think vectra C but 5x as bad

Matt TBH, of the MK4 Astras I see about, only the REALLY early ones (98 or S reg) are starting to show signs of rust.

Matt I do miss my 1.6 for the economy and ease of driving. Only reason I got shut was the fecking squeaky drivers seat. The 1.6 was bomb proof.

Sjdickso Mark, Not heard great things about the GSi in Vec C, I hear they can be costly to run and have very low MPG. You should pick a half decent 2.2 Astra G for under £1200.
MikeS had my astra g since oct 2010 only had to replace centre section disk / pads 4 tyres car has not given me one problem yet [touch wood] prob the only car that has not cost me anything really since buying it
