Fitted the polished cover

Had a miss hap yesterday, tried givin the inside a once over with oven cleaner as nothing else to hand, it spilled over and ruined the finish :o

Anyway, re polished and fitted this evening, lot better then the plastic one 🙂

Just need to add the new intake and a few other silicone bits and it's finished... Although I may drain and change the coolant to blue lol

I'm sure the blue coolant is unsuitable these gm engines, hence why pink is used...

i seen some where that red is long life stuff and blue only last 2 year, cant remember where seen the write up now

I'll just change every year if that's the case, do oil every 6-8 anyway, what's an extra £20 🙂

It's more the fact that the blue and red react in a bad way and become sludge. You would need to remove any trace of the red coolant in the system which would require the cooling galleries in the block to be cleaned.
Maybe make a cover for the expansion tank with a window so you can see the level but won't see as much of the red as you do now.

Very nice engine bay. Absolutely love it.

Do they not make an alloy expansion take that would fit? Have seen a few on the VXR's that Forge make

What size is the standard tank, about a litre would you say?

Could probably get one knocked up quite easily, catch can style with the outer tubular level check maybe?
