Castrol Magnatec 5/30 @ halfords

just bought 2x 4l 5/30 magnatec for 35 quid

was on offer at 17.50 for 4 litres

replacing fuch supersyn stuff 5/40

been using the oil for about 10 months done about 6kso why not treat engine

i though vxhall 5/30 was thin lmao the castrol stuff is like water - lucky i bought another 4 litres as i am thinking i gonna be burning this stuff up

i woud not touch castrol oil,i only ever use vauxhall oil in my car

Local place near me has started doing 5L of their own brand 5W40 for £15, supposedly approved by many manufacturers and my astra loves it.

I gave up on fuchs titan when the price shot up to £30

Mine loves the fusch 5/40, it's all I've used for the last 2 years, and have another 5 litre in the shed ready for the next oil change

It has been a few months since the change and I had a rattle on cold start, first time since buying car [nearly 2 years] and I bricked it, turned engine off and restarted it and all seemed fine.

I went to check the engine oil and it was showing nothing though been checking regularly, this oil is an absolute pain to check using the dipstick, 30 minutes later and I came to the conclusion it had used .5 litres. Therefore .75 litres since June some 1000 miles later.

I am not very confident using this engine oil compared to the fuchs 5/40 nor standard gm 10/40 therefore I think I will be changing it over before the winter sets in.

Final thoughts is that it is too thin for the z22se considering how old these engines are now and how troublesome it is to keep an eye on.

Funnily enough, I had to top mine up yesterday. It was on the Min. I can't remember the last time that I checked it. I'm always rattling on that mine doesn't burn any oil. That shot me up the bum!

The Fuchs Titan Race Pro is coming out next weekend in favour of this new Millers Nanodrive 5/40W.

finally came to replacing this shit

engine was rattling less than second on cold start, rough idle, jerky gear changes

so 3000 miles later and the good part of 1.2 litres of oil used i decided to change it

oil was black as fook and i have hated every second of it in my car

chucked in some 5/40 fuch supersyn that cost me 22 quid + delivery and she starts and idles lovely, engine is so quiet now!!

I am also guessing my mpg must of gone down the shitter also with this oil.
