alarm LED

over past few week there has been some lads looking in cars and trying the doors around are streets and cops say we will drive round some nites and have a look and they have not been since ones :mad: i know got the flashing LED on the dash but i was thinking of putting 1 in corner of window so what i want to know is how would i wire this up to flash when i lock car???? i seen on Google people wire them up to head unit to flash when take key out but i want it to flash when lock the car and stop when unlock it, any 1 know when i can do it please?? 🙂

If you already have an LED can you not just take a feed from there with a bit of speaker wire?

If you also as paranoid as me about the car you can fit a hidden switch running from an ignition live source, i powered 2 12v sirens, one behind one of the centre air vents facing the driver seat and one in the scuttle tray in front of the polen filter... I arm it every time i leave the car, my astra was nicked with the key, least this way they get a face full of 120db even if they have my keys and they should scarper quite quickly, cost less then £20 too 🙂

I tried to use the feed from the led in dash. When i lock the car led in dash take about 10 sec before starts flashing so found the feed put my led to it lock car start flashing but then when the dash 1 starts to flash my other 1 just stop. If can't wire it in i mite put it on switch and use the +/- from head unit

Can i use speaker wire as my live from head unit to switch or will i need proper wire?

Yeah shouldn't be an issue.

Speaker wire should be fine. I used it to power the reverse camera I fitted
