and now I have rebuilt her and added a few more bits. Powerflex bushes were added whilst the engine was out.

Ive also added a complete black leather interior with contrasting grey seat belts. I managed to get hold of a 3 button panel for the heated seats switches & traction control button. I already had the wiring in place for the seats but had to wire in the traction loom which didnt take long.

Ive got a set of 308mm brake calipers & carriers which ill fit once I have a new set of discs, pads & new braided brake hoses. Any suggestions on brake disc & pad makes? What ones do you find work best? Ive managed to literally "cook" the Black Diamond 288mm drilled & grooved discs & pads.

Im just waiting for the 2 headlight washer jets & relay now as they are on back order. The rest of the system is fitted ready & waiting. When I get the washer jets & relay im going to spend a weekend tidying up all the wiring & giving the engine & bay a good clean.

Last thing on the list is some bigger wheels

Is there no risk of drawing in water having the filter that low down?

There is a risk yes, but how much of 1 i dont know. Ill have to take a picture of the filter with the bumper on but it sits just a bit higher than the fog light position.

Suppose as long as you're careful not to hoof it through a deep puddle, it should be OK. I've seen loads of cars with them fitted down there, but there would always be something in the back of my mind worrying about water getting in.

sorry to be a harbringer of doom but i think if you drove round with the filter there, here last week you most certainly wouldnt have a working car. the fto couldnt go out for a few days as my inlet is in virtualy the same place as your filter.
(mind you that said some cars were floating.)

inlet fits well more room than i thought congrats!😉

UPDATE: Well the car passed the MOT today with no problems. Only little problem is the crank seal has decided to fail, but it was the first road test today since build. Ive had her ticking over whilst stationery and had no leaks but it seems under load it didnt like it.

As for the engine/car im very happy with it. the noise from the plenum fantastic! Under light acceleration its not bad but if you just give it a little more you get a lovely growl from the plenum with added induction noise from the cone filter. Ive not tried hard acceleration yet as i want to run the engine in a bit first just to make sure everything is ok.

Ive also noticed the powerflex engine bush has made the engine more static so there is a bit more vibration.

So this week ill get a new crank seal fitted and when i get chance ill post a video up with sound.....
