my vecky c z22se has started to rattle when cold for a couple of seconds. after that its fine. its done 66,000 on a 53 plate. now it is due a oil change but has always suffered with mayo in oil and i was thinking it might be due to that blocking a feed pipe or breather or something. is it worth doing a oil change or just get the chain done....
also is there anyone in yorkshire ie leeds bradford area to do them cheers.
by the way i run it on 5w 30 and change around every 10,000 .

If it is rattling, I would not drive the car unless you really have too or to the place to get it changed. I would also change to 10-40 semi oil and change every 5k.

Try giving it a good engine flush and oil change to see if that helps. However if you are in any doubt about the condition of the chain and tensioners or you don't know if or when it has been done then I would suggest you have it done ASAP as we all know the results of a snapped chain or tensioner breakage.

right breathers all cleaned through but still rattle when cold. not all the time but now and again. time for a chain me thinks. does anybody no of anyone decent in yorkshire to do it.

It's not that hard a job to do yourself. Depends how good you are with the spanners. If you can do a Timing belt then this is no different and I thought a tad easier than some belts Ive done.
