jkspoff Take a look at this video I shot of my cam chain with the cover off before it was changed. Its so loose. Also the plastic guides had broken and the tensioner broken apart. It had been rattly for over a year before it was changed. Amazed it hadn't jumped off or slipped teeth. Daz Not good at all..... i can better that tho,, had one in for a chain change, and the guide above was not there... the chain was running against the top bolt...:eek:
leemarksmith Should the chain be fairly tight then, will have my cover off in a few weeks, not sure if it's ever been changed and it's coming up to 65k on an 03...
jkspoff Bloody ell ! Thought mine was bad, not sure what was holding it on as the plastic guides and tensioner were broke too ! Makes a remarkable difference to noise and performance when it's tight 🙂
jkspoff Chain should be tight yes. You can check by removing the rocker cover. Worth checking as mine only a few years old and was ready to jump off !
