Hi all, is the starter in the Vectra B the same as other Z22SE engined cars? And how about non-Z22SE cars, what starter motors are compatible? I'm finding it difficult to find one that says it's for a 2.2 Vectra!

OK it turns out there are 2 variants, a 9 tooth and an 11 tooth version. How do I know which I need?

there are two sizes of starter motor for the z22se, I'm pretty sure both fit ok

but only the z22se/z20net/b207 starter motors will fit the engine

Hey Daz, I've already bought a replacement one but the weather and stories I'm reading are putting me off from changing it. Is there any chance you'd be free at some point to swap it over? If not I'll give it a go myself, I need the car to drive to France on Friday lol! PM'd too.

Fixed! Note that Welsh Auto Parts don't have the correct part number for a Z22SE starter motor 🙁

E14, cheers for the help. I bought a set of star spanners and forgot that a spanner wouldn't reach the top bolt, had to make the trip back to get the socket lol

Ah I see, yeah the starter I bought from them was completely different to the one on the car. I got a full refund from them and got a brand new one from Euro Car Parts, pricey though! I need the car for Friday though so I guess it was necessary.
