Afternoon All.
New to the site and i just wanted a bit of advice from the people in the know.
I have a 2001 Zafira 2.2 which is going through a fairly substantial amount of oil ( about 1 litre per 120 miles) and i am losing a bit of coolant.
Put it in the garage and had them give it a once over and pretty much got the following:
- No Oil in Airbox so not coming through Vacuum pipe
- No Oil Leaks external to the block
- They did pressure test it but have not got figures (Just ordered a compression tester kit so will check myself but need to find correct figures from somewhere)
- When they let it warm up and rev the car up oil is coming straight from the exhaust.
On that note they have decided Piston Rings are shot and probably the bores (although to be fair had topped up with 5w30 which is all i had lying around to get it to them) so that could be that as well.
So going on the garages recommendation of rebuild or replace (replace probably preferable as me and engine internals dont get on..) With the above observations do people agree with this route?
