using too much petrol

hi wonder if any one can help,got a vectra sri thats doing just over 13 miles to gallon ! does any one know what could cause this? eml was on only fault showing was no2 lambda sensor which has been replaced, eml light out now but not made a difference to mpg. very strong smell of petrol from exhaust when running.

take the other lambda out and give her a clean, and maybe a service, including fuel filter and additives? Is the car running lumpy on tiick over? Poor pickup?

ok thanks will try.car had basic service oil, oil filter, air filter and plugs. its slightly lumpy on tick over but picks up ok. also noticed on tickover its showing as 0.9 gallons a hour where has its normaly 0.2 per hour. will keep fingers crossed last time had a car doing similar was the ecu ! allthough it was an alfa !!!!
