Hi all, my name is Paul from the Northwest of the UK.

This site is a wealth of info and so far everyone has been really helpful.

I drive a Veccy C 2.2i SRi.

Thanx Matt, I like it alot, the 2.2 lump pulls it along just fine and will crack on if asked 🙂

After reading your site and taking advice from other members ( Vocky & Johnvec - thanx guys) the one thing I want to do to it is replace the stock chain tensioner with the improved Z20NET tensioner for preventative maintenance purposes ( the engine is fine at the mo ).

Now over the years I have dabbled with small mods and routine servicing etc etc but I am a little daunted by this, if I get it wrong the engine is in big trouble, do you know anyone who could help me with this modification?

Replacing the tensioner?? Just unscrew the old one and put the new one in its place!! It really is that simple!!

The newer tensioner won't fit unless you replace the chain guide too, which makes the job slightly more involved.

Hopefully someone else can back me up on this 🙂

Its mentioned in TIS to replace the guide as well but not sure if its a case of "good practice" or necessity.

Now I am confused :confused:

Can I replace 'just' the stock tensioner bolt off my 2008 Z22YH engine with the improved Z20NET tensioner bolt or do i need to replace the chain guide too?

Has anyone done this on the Z22YH engine?

Hi again everyone.

I have just fitted some new rims and rubber to my vec c so thought I would add a few pics to share with you.

The car is now running on lowered Eibach springs, 18" Vxl multispoke alloys and Avon ZZ3 rubber, the ride and handling is great and I am very pleased with it.

Eibach springs totally transformed my old Vectra C as well.
