engine help please

Yo guys, 850 miles ago I did a full rebuild on my 2.2 Astra, piston rings, the lot.
Up too 600 miles the oil levels were fine, but I then took the car on a 300 miles journey, when I got back, I checked her again, and had to put approximately 2 pints back in to the engine.
is this normal? Or do I have problems again. Any help is much appreciated. 🙂🙁

i would have thought you would see blue smoke if she was burning it that bad or you would see a leak.
however my old 2.2 was also very oil hungry on long trips and was not puffing smoke untill a lot later in life.
you could try and fit a catch tank just to see if it collects anything that previously had been drawn into the inlet.
