Won't start after engine change

As above, changed the engine over for a known working one, but it won't fire up.

Fuel is getting there, can smell it and plugs were wet. No lights on dash, changed crank sensor over for one off origanal engine and Aldo cleaned all earth points.

No to me it sounded a bit weird when turning over but I think it's got compression as I took plugs out when turning over and it spurted out, took filler cap off and cud feel suction and could hear noise from exhaust manifold. It just like there no spark?

All wiring and fuses have been checked again.

What could it be? Any pointers....

h check you havent bent any of the pins on the ecu ,as i had this when i went to start mine after fitting the s/c ,one of the pins had bent ,sounds very similar to yours i had fuel getting up etc etc ,just wouldnt fire.
once i straigthened it up all was good

I shall give that a go 1st fing in morning. Please let it be something as simple as that 🙂

Before I put it in I could all valves Wer straight, I'm praying it hasn't slipped or snapped! I can't hear any noise of valves hitting pistons(dunno wether you would anyways?)

What should the compression readings be on each cylinder?

Cast a fresh eye over the wiring. Check you haven't left off the ECU earth or the earth from the coil pack to the head. They are often easily missed.

zero compression isn't good, did you hear it running before you bought it ?

no cos the cars are "d-p'd" befofre they go out in to the yard...on their system it said it was a runner....

im wondering if chain snapped soon as i tried to start it?
