new suspension on

well ive finally got around to doing my suspension change ,i bought myself all new shocks and springs last year ,new top mount kits and new drop links .
so now i have bilstein b4 shocks and kws lowering springs 40mm all round

all in it took about 4.5 -5 hrs with lots of coffee breaks and swearing especially one droplink which was a :swear::swear: to get off.
next weekend i'll have the wheels off again and clean the arches up
heres a few pics ,sits high compared to how it was but should settle a bit in a few weeks .the ride is a lot smoother now

Back looks spot on, but the front does look quite high in comparison.

As matt says... back sits nice, but front is high... but shud settle.... i see you have safety in mind aswell, 3d pic down, axle stands.. summat johnny has only recently got to use, lol

yeah hope it does settle seems weird with the front end so high compared to what it was........haha yeah safety in mind i done a risk assement and method statement as well

cheers john ,when you changed yours originally did yours sit quite high for a while ,as you went for the 35 mm set up didnt you

Are they the 1.8/2.0 front springs, as I'm sure I read on here previously that the ones people sell for the 2.2 are the same as the V6 ones which makes the front sit high as the engine isn't heavy enough?

oh god i hope not ,when i ordered them from courtenays they took the axle weight etc so they are 2.2 specific .maybe i should have gone for 2.0 ones

Had the same issue with the eibachs i bought for my old vec... roadrunner cudnt sort it out... and wudnt take them back as i had fitted them

hhmmm well if these fronts are the wrong ones ,cant see courtenay taking them back now there fitted
what did you do in the end with yours daz

I used the koni shocks, but fitted pi springs.... sat nice...

fingers crossed it drops a bit ,other wise i'll be looking for different springs again

Get onto Mark Watts in the morning Jas. He dealt with the order on mine. Mark knows his stuff when it comes to suspension kits.

dont suppose you got a pic of yours when you first fitted your new kit ,i presume yours sat lower than mine

It did but then, it was fitted in December 2007 and I didn't see the car again until May 2008. That was when they were doing all their 2.4 inlet development on my car and then they did the SC conversion. So I never saw it when it was first fitted.

just spoke with mark ashford ,who done the order .the axle weights i gave him are the right ones he gave kw so hes sending kw the pics off my car and leaving the ball in there court

had an e mail from mark ashford earlier ,after relaying e mails ,measuring the distance from the the centre of the alloy to the underside of the wheel arch etc .
any way mark has said kw are sending a replacement pair of front springs :thumbup:
